Crater Lake and entering into Caifornia

Crater Lake National Park is not as known and famous as other places on my agenda. Interesting for me was fact that one can see this giant crater and that it even has a road around - which gives impression of its size.

On the way I saw Diamond Peak, covered in snow

North entrance do Crater Lake National PARK

I was there on Saturday and amount of people was even higher then I expected. Instead of standing in line (1-st such long for me) I was offered to by-pass thanks to my Annual Pass card. It costs 80$ and is valid for all parks till July 2014.

When I reached to first view point I saw the view that was beyond what I expected to see.

There is 1 Island on the lake

I drove around the whole crater and I really enjoyed it. Despite fact temperaturę was already like in California - all the time in range 90-95 F (32-35 C).

Afterwards I took the road towards California - in the north end of the state, on the coast, is Crescent City. During this trip temperaturę dropped from 95 to 59 F (35 to 15 C), so I needed to stop and put more clothes on ;-)

US 230 - very nice road

Leaving Oregan...

... and entering California

First sequoia trees - on the approach to Crescent City

Tomorrow I'll drive thru Redwood National Park and also "Avenue of Giants".
